What’s in my travel bag?

If anyone out there likes to know what sort of things people carry with them in their bag (I know I do, I’m so nosey!) then this is the post for you.  I’ve decided to focus on what I take with me when I’m travelling, either to uni or when I head back home as I only ever really take my purse/keys/phone out as my usual bag is rather small.

When I’m travelling I take one of 2 bags – my trusty Adidas rucksack that I’ve had for years or this gorgeous grey Primark bag. Both can fit a lot more in than I first thought and have lasted well over the last year at uni, I will be using them more even though I won’t be travelling as much anymore.

ESSENTIALS

Purse/Phone/Keys/Travel Wallet/Water

For obvious reasons, these items are on my essentials list. My purse is a Ted Baker one that I got for my 18th birthday and it is still going strong. I love the layout of this purse as it means hat notes don’t get crumpled (a pet hate of mine). I then have my phone, house keys and this travel wallet that I keep my railcard and train tickets in. I got the wallet from Amazon last year and it’s really handy to have as it saves getting my whole purse out all the time. Water is ESSENTIAL for me to have in my bag, I cannot stand being thirsty and cannot justify buying bottles. I have this handy bottle that I take everywhere with me, I aim to drink 2-3 of these a day and it makes all the difference.

UNI ITEMS

Laptop/Notebook/Pencil case

If I’m heading up home, its more than likely that I won’t have my laptop with me but I will always, always take a notebook and pen for nay last minute dissertation notes, blogging inspo or general list making. I love a list. The current notebook that I’m using was a gift from my Mum’s friend and I love the design. I want to buy more notebooks but I’m pretty sure I have enough…

EMERGENCY ITEMS

Snacks/Chargers

Snacks are essential in my bag. Whether it’s a full-blown lunch or just a cereal bar, there will always be some kind of food in my bag. you just never know do you?! I usually flick between my portable charger and my actual charger for my phone depending on where I’m going. The trains that I get on don’t usually have plugs (London Northwestern, sort it out) so I’d use my portable charger or my laptop. Thankfully MacBooks tend to hold charge really well and on days then I knew I wouldn’t be on it as much, the charger would stay at home as it’s so bulky. Annoying.

NOT NECESSARY BUT NECESSARY ITEMS

Plasters/Paracetamol/Tissues/Lip Balm

I am the mum of a group and I always have everything that has been thought of. If you need it, there is a 99% chance I will have it in my bag. I cannot stand leaving the house without tissues (thanks hay fever), headache tablets (thanks uni) or plasters (new shoes, cheers to you too) and I have been caught out so many timesin the past that I rarely risk it now – a) I can’t afford to repurchase simple things I have at home and b) I like to be prepared for any situation I could potentially end up in. I also carry chewing gum, body spray, make-up (if I’m wearing it) and hand sanitiser. No wonder why I have a bad back…

MISCELLANEOUS

Book/Diary/Sunglasses

I put these in a separate category as I don’t always have these on me. Well I have my sunglasses on me but they’re on my head, my diary I will only take if necessary and a book is making a more of an appearance as I’m getting back into reading.

Hope you all enjoyed an insight into what’s in my bag and what items I need to take with me, what’s the one essential item you have to have in your bag?

Thanks for reading,

I really enjoy reading these kinda posts as I’m quite nosey ha ha 😋. Your travel wallet is the cutest, I love the design. Also, the notebook and pencil case is so pretty, yay for nice stationery! Carrying snacks with you like a cereal bar is such a good idea and stops you buying unhealthy food when starving. Thanks for sharing your bag Liz! 💖 xx

Haha me too! It’s the best isn’t it? Can’t go wrong with nice stationary, seems to make working easier. Exactly and it’s always good to have something on you in case of delays. Thank you Bexa 💗xx

I usually have a jug of water with me too! Being from Arizona it’s kind of habit now, and with this heatwave in the UK I don’t leave my house without it!
